Coalition of Leading Advocacy Groups Urges Congress to Support American Businesses and Innovation

Washington, D.C. — The American Growth & Innovation Forum (AGIF), joined by more than a dozen national advocacy organizations, sent a letter to Congressional leaders calling for continued support of U.S.-based businesses and a more balanced approach to economic regulation.

The letter—addressed to Senate and House leaders from both parties—highlights the essential role of large, integrated American companies in delivering affordability, access, and long-term investment in communities nationwide. It urges Congress to avoid policies that penalize scale, impose excessive regulation, or weaken America’s ability to compete globally.

“American enterprise is one of the greatest engines for affordability and opportunity in the world,” said Diana London, President of AGIF. “When we empower businesses to innovate and grow, we strengthen the entire economy—supporting jobs, driving down costs, and ensuring that our nation remains competitive on the global stage.”

A Case for a Pro-Growth, Pro-Innovation Agenda

In the letter, AGIF and its partners emphasize that integrated companies—those capable of manufacturing, distribution, and R&D within the United States—are uniquely positioned to keep costs low for consumers while maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and innovation. From life-saving medical research to domestic manufacturing and energy resilience, these companies have proven indispensable to America’s economic and national security.

The coalition cautions against proposals that would expand government control over corporate structures or impose price-setting measures that distort markets. Instead, they advocate for fact-based policymaking that rewards efficiency, investment, and innovation.

“Policies that punish size or success ultimately hurt consumers,” said Patrick Murphy, AGIF Board Member. “Scale is what allows American companies to produce at lower costs, sustain good-paying jobs, and invest billions in the breakthroughs that make our country more secure and prosperous.”

A Stronger, More Competitive America

AGIF and its partner organizations argue that maintaining a competitive edge globally depends on keeping the U.S. a favorable environment for investment and innovation. Over-regulation and fragmentation threaten to push production, jobs, and intellectual property overseas—undermining the very affordability and access that policymakers aim to protect.

“We should be encouraging growth, not constraining it,” said Sam Kuebler, AGIF Board Member. “A pro-business, pro-innovation Congress is key to ensuring that the next generation of breakthroughs—whether in medicine, technology, or energy—happen here at home.”
